Prerequisites
- A licensed or broker-provided trading terminal
- Broker account credentials
- A tested trading strategy and risk controls
Security note
Trading involves financial risk. Hosting cannot guarantee latency, execution quality, uptime, or profit. Confirm broker rules and test with non-production or demo settings first.
Step 1
Connect and secure Windows
Complete the Windows security checklist, change temporary credentials, and install pending updates before adding trading software.
Step 2
Install from an official source
Download the terminal only from the broker or software vendor. Verify the publisher and avoid installers shared through messages or forums.
Step 3
Configure time and power behavior
Confirm the server clock and time zone are correct. Review restart and update windows so they do not surprise an active session.
Step 4
Protect account secrets
Do not place broker passwords in scripts or public files. Limit administrator access and use the strongest account protection the broker supports.
Step 5
Test reconnection and restart behavior
Use a demo account to verify terminal startup, strategy state, logs, and recovery after a controlled application or server restart.
Step 6
Monitor the complete path
Watch terminal health, disk space, Windows events, broker connectivity, and strategy-specific limits. Measure latency to the actual broker endpoint from the ordered location.
Troubleshooting
- The terminal disconnects
- Check broker status, local terminal logs, Windows events, DNS, and network reachability. A VPS provider cannot diagnose broker-side execution from hosting metrics alone.
- An automated strategy does not resume
- Confirm the strategy is enabled, required files and credentials are available, and its own startup and recovery documentation has been followed.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Forex VPS guarantee faster trades or profit?
No. Results depend on the broker, market, strategy, location, network path, and risk controls. Test the real setup before relying on it.
